Packers vs Bears Preview

Brandon Marshall may have been right when he said that this Sundays game versus the Green Bay Packers may be the most important game of his life.

This may be the most important game of the season for both teams. If the Packers win, they clinch the NFC North division. It also puts the Bears in a desperate situation where they may have to battle the Seahawks, Washington, and Vikings for a wildcard spot. A loss this weekend could mean no playoffs for the Bears.

There has been much bickering between the players the last few days with Jermichael Finley, Brian Urlacher, Brandon Marshall, Greg Jennings, Lance Briggs and others. However, talking doesn’t win games, performance does.

This a quite even game that could end up either way. Both teams have some benefits though.

With Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, and Greg Jennings, the Bears secondary will have a challenge. Plus, with the Packers run game finally developing, it helps add to the Packers pass game.

The Bears do have a great threat that is Brandon Marshall. If the Bears do decide to cover Brandon Marshall tightly, there should be other players opportunities. With Matt Forte and Michael Bush, their run game can be unstoppable.

The Packers defense has proven to give up the big plays, but they can also make their own. Morgan Burnett, Casey Hayward and Sam Shields can be game changers. Plus, if Clay Matthews returns this weekend, the Packers will finally have the much needed pass rush.

But the Bears defense has proven to perform extraordinarily. Although they haven’t been playing their best defense, it is very possible that they can perform on Sunday. The Bears defense did allow Adrian Peterson to run right past them, so if the Packers can do that, they will be successful.

Both teams can easily win, so it is important that each team plays to the best of their ability. However, only one team can win, and this game could decide the playoffs.
