There were plenty of great performances throughout the NFL during week 7. Running backs continue to disappoint this season as only one RB had over 100 yards. As for quarterbacks, there was an great stats league wide. 8 QB’s had 3 touch downs, and 9 had passer ratings over 100. As a result, receivers also dominated with 10 receivers over 100 yards.
Looking at all of the players during week 7, Matt Ryan is my NFL player of the week.
Ryan completed 20 of 26 passes (76.9 percent) for 273 with three touchdown and a career-high 148.4 passer rating in the win over the Buccaneers. His quarterback rating for the game was the highest yet so far this season, and sets a record for the Falcons franchise.
This has not been the only impressive game for Matt Ryan this season. Ryan has completed 171 of 244 passes (70.1 percent) for 1,922 yards with 13 touchdowns, three interceptions, and a 105.9 passer rating.
He is third in the NFL in completion percentage and quarterback rating. He is also seventh in touchdowns and passing yards. On a team that relies much on the passing game, he has had 320.3 yards per game thus far.
The 2-4 Falcons are scheduled to play the 3-4 Cardinals as they try to overcome their poor start, and return to the playoffs.
