After a dramatic game filled with Megatron being mega and Matthew Stafford trickery, the Lions defeat the Cowboys in a last second 31-30 win over the Cowboys.

Calvin Johnson finished the game just 8 yards shy of breaking Flipper Anderson‘s NFL single-game record of 336 receiving yards. Johnson also tied a league record with his fifth career 200-yard game.

Matthew Stafford also shocked the Cowboys with a 1-yard leap over a pile of linemen with 12 seconds left. Prior to the play, Stafford rushed his men to the line, signaling a spike to stop the clock. Cowboys defenders were left unprepared as Stafford extended his arm, narrowly beating the Cowboys.

On their last drive, Stafford threw a 22-yard pass to Johnson to set up the winning score. The quarterback caught at least some Cowboys by surprise, including linebacker Sean Lee, who appeared to expect him to spike the ball to stop the clock.

Leading up to the final play was Johnson’s 329 yards receiving. No matter how much the Cowboys defense tried, Johnson continued gaining yards, guarded or not. The confident Cowboys were also caught in single coverage on Johnson, leading up to his tremendous game.

Fans began leaving the stadium during the final minutes, believing the Lions could not make the comeback.

However, the game was not always positive for the Lions. The Lions  overcame four turnovers, two interception and two fumbles, without forcing a turnover themselves.

Stafford was 33 of 48 for 488 yards, with a 2-yard TD pass to Johnson in the first quarter and two interceptions. Bush had 92 yards rushing and a score. Romo was 14 of 30 for 206 yards with no turnovers.

Before the game, Dallas Cowboy receiver Dez Bryant was noted for claiming he was just as good as Calvin Johnson,

I believe I can do whatever he can do. I think it’s just a pride thing. When it comes to football, just being on the field, it’s a mindset and having a mentality. I honestly believe when I’m there, I’ll be feeling like there’s nothing I can’t do. Whatever the coaches ask me to do, I’m going to do it.

I always feel like there’s more. I think that’s just a mindset you’re supposed to have. -Quote from ESPN

That wasn’t exactly apparent during the game. Bryant finished with 72 yards on just three receptions. Not really comparable to Megatrons 329 yards on 14 receptions.

Dez Bryant also exhibited temper tantrums throughout the game as frustration escalated. Click here to watch Dez Bryant Tantrums videos and gifs.

The Detroit Lions (5-3) are scheduled to play the Chicago Bears in a division match up
