Everyone has been anxious with the anticipated return of Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose. After sitting out for over a year due to a serious knee injury, Derrick Rose returned to the court and led the Bulls to an 8-0 record in the 2013-2014 Preseason.

Even though the Preseason doesn’t always tell the whole story for a team, Derrick Rose looked very crisp and the Bulls appear to be a real threat in the Eastern Conference this season.

On October 29th, Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls will begin their quest to be the dominant team in the East when they face the defending champion Miami Heat and the league’s MVP Lebron James in the NBA Season Opener.

After a sample size of 8 games, Derrick Rose looks to be as explosive as ever. He has even stated that he has returned to 100% mentally and physically, and is focused on leading the Bulls to a Championship.

Derrick Rose’s athleticism is already heightened to an unfathomable level, and in my opinion, his improved shooting will only assist the Bulls in their journey for a title.

Tuesday night, the Bulls will have a full roster with a healthy Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, and more. Along with these extremely talented players, they will have 24 year-old Jimmy Butler out there defending Lebron James. Jimmy Butler proved he was an elite defender during last year’s postseason by holding Lebron James to a 43.6% shooting percentage.

Not only do the Bulls have offensive and defensive capabilities, they will also be facing a Miami Heat squad who finished dead last in the entire league in rebounding for the 2012-2013 season.

Yes, the Heat re-signed Chris “Birdman” Andersen and signed Greg Oden; however, this will not be able to compete with a fresh Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer. The only thing delaying Rose’s awaited return will be the Miami Heat raising the Championship banner and receiving their rings in front of the home fans.

Tom Thibodeau will keep his team in the locker room during the Heat’s pre-game ceremony and prepare his team for an opening night battle.

I believe a healthy Chicago Bulls’ team can defeat a Miami Heat team with many players on their roster beginning to decline. Rose’s return will re-kindle the Heat-Bulls rivalry as we get set to watch an exceptional matchup on the NBA’s opening night.

Prediction: Bulls- 93 Heat- 87
